Letter to Senior Self

Dear Senior Madison,

It’s amazing how fast time goes by. It feels like you were just moving into your freshman dorm yesterday! So much has changed since then, you were so nervous and timid…now look at you! You’ve made so many lifelong friends and have made it through four hard years of education and soccer. You even changed your major (hopefully only once)! You really grew up and have become a completely different person than you were in high school. I’m proud of you for coming out of your shell and becoming more extroverted! The main thing i want to remind you of on your big graduation day is this: No matter what you decide to do in life, make sure you’re happy. There’s been times over these four years that you haven’t been happy. And most of the time, you’re too afraid of disappointing someone or telling people how you really feel so you just remain unhappy. You can’t do that anymore! You’re almost 22 years old, it’s time to do what makes you happy! Whether that’s moving to the beach, becoming a guidance counselor, or bringing home 7 puppies, do what makes you happy! This life is too short to walk around trying not to disappoint your parents or your peers. Pursue YOUR dreams and do what YOU want to do, i promise that you’ll regret it if you don’t.

Love,

Freshman Madison
