This course introduces students to the theories and methods of archaeological research. It also refers to the history of archaeology, natural and cultural transformation processes, dating techniques, settlement, burial, and artifact analysis, and environmental reconstruction.
First thing I learned in this course was the scientific method which was refreshing because I thought that I would not recognize anything in this class. I applied the scientific method to a lot of the topics which made it easier for me to understand. Because a lot of the material learned was foreign to me, I made sure to use flashcards when studying for the exam so I knew exactly what the term meant and how it was important.
