Here’s an article on Holley Mangold prior to her participation in the 2012 Olympics. She ended up not earning a medal due to an injury she sustained before after she dropped weights on her back.
She’s still awesome.

I love how confident Holley is with herself. I honestly wish I could have the self-esteem that she does. In our lecture when Dr. Naomi talked about Holley playing for her high school football team was the first time I had heard of her. I remember thinking now there is a woman who is not afraid to be herself and show others that gendered norms aren’t always correct. My favorite part of the whole article was a quote by Holley, “I don’t want to be small,” she said. “That would be awful. Nobody remembers the skinny girl’s name.” I absolutely love that because it makes me feel that being skinny isn’t everything. That it is what you make of yourself that counts. Go Holley!
