With currently being a senior here at Longwood University, and I am very invested in my education. Before coming to Longwood University, I earned my associate degree at Richard Bland College. While my time here at Longwood has been short, I still have had wonderful opportunities to make friendships, make memories, and receive a great education. While receiving my education, I have achieved many of the goals that I have set for myself and still have a few more to achieve. My most recent goal is to graduate from Longwood with my bachelor’s degree and go on to further my education by achieving my master’s degree in speech therapy.

Like most college students, I myself work. I believe that working through school can help you set goals, achieve those goals and help you be successful further on in life. While home on weekends and breaks, I wait tables. With working in a restaurant, I believe helps you build character and leadership skills. I have learned that with waiting tables, that the way you approach your customer says a lot. I always try my hardest to be friendly and caring when waiting on a customer. Even on a waiter or waitresses’ hardest days they still have to great costumers with great customer service. I have a lot of respect for waiters and waitress and try my hardest when I decide to dine out to be friendly with them. With working in a restaurant, you have an amazing opportunity to meet new people. I myself have meet plenty of people from different states and countries. While waiting on them you have a great opportunity to talk to them and can learn a lot from what they say. I have learned about how cultures in Europe differ from ours here in the United States. Along with waiting tables, I also work in a daycare. I believe that working in a daycare, can help build your leadership characteristics. With wanting to work with children, this has given me an amazing opportunity to help build my leadership skills by learning how to take control in a classroom.
