Overall, I believe that the Honors Portfolio is a great way for students to chart their progress through their college career. It was a great way for me to be able to reflect on almost all of my courses that I took, including the ones that I did not feel the strongest about. This is however where my criticism begins. The ePortfolio requirements only specify Honors and General Education courses to be reflected upon, and not Major courses. While this might make some students’ ePortfolios a little long, I would encourage CHC to add a requirement to reflect upon at least 3 or 4 Major courses. This kind of inclusion might help students develop a more positive attitude towards the ePortfolio, and not think of it just as another assignment due at the Spring semester’s end.
