Fundamentals of Chemistry 1
Dr. White
Fall 2018

Fundamentals of Chemistry one was an introduction into Chemistry that covered topics such as bonds, thermochemistry, and stoichiometry.  In addition, it contained an interactive lab that was followed with a lab report.  The labs and lab reports were very beneficial because it gave students the chance to apply what was taught in lecture and learn how to properly write a lab report.  Dr. White emphasized the importance of being concise and very direct.  I later used this new developed skill to aid in the writing of a paper for precalculus.

Chemistry labs are all about hypothesizing what you think may happen based off of what you know and the relationships understood, then testing your hypothesis.  It was a very interactive way of learning that reinforced the material, and made it easier to learn.  For my artifact I decided to include my final lab report because it demonstrates my progression from never writing a formal lab report, to being able to carry out an experiment and have a fully typed, formal analysis.
