When I think about scholarship, I think about opportunity.  Scholarship to me is one saying, “I believe in this student and I want them to have the opportunity to succeed because I see the vast amounts of potential in them.”  As a student who has received a scholarship, I can say it is truly an honor to be thought of in this way.  I am grateful that someone believes in me, the effort I am putting forth, and is willing to take the time and money to invest in a student such as myself.  It helps drives me to be the best students possible and it also inspires me to give back in the way I am able to too.  For example, I hope one day I am able to pay it forward to the next person or persons by being a knowledgeable teacher and a strong person for my students.  I want to not only set a good example, I also strive to be a teacher who can help students recognize their potential and value with in themselves, so that they will be successful in what they are passionate about.
