Goal 4 – HON: The Appreciation of Music
Reflection:
My notecards were the most daunting and most rewarding task for this class. As part of my grade, I had to make notecards for vocabulary terms and for composers that we were studying. It was long and tedious work to make them all, but when I had finished and I looked back on my final product, I was proud of what I had done.
In handwriting all of those cards and then color-coding the composers, I found it slightly easier to remember the information. Being a musician all throughout my young life, I knew many vocabulary terms already, but I was surprised to see so many names of composers I didn’t know, even if I knew about many of them before the course began. My appreciation of music has only grown to accommodate a wider scope of musical genres.
