Goal 2 – Writing and Research

This course was completed through the Dual Enrollment program offered by my high school through the Northern Virginia Community College system.

Reflection:

This class was pretty fun to be in – I enjoyed the discussions and lessons that took place during class time. I, for the most part, also liked the essays and stories that we read, which were used as sources for discussion and inspiration. I can definitely say that this class drove me to think more critically about what I read and how I write. I don’t necessarily like to write research papers, but the fact that we, the students, could research our own chosen topics for out last major paper helped make it a bit more fun to do. Although I did quite a bit of poking around my information sources, looking for tidbits about my own topic, most of what I found were just things that explained how the fourth dimension works. As far as what I’d written, I definitely did try to be cautious to not make huge statements without enough evidence to support them, although I did let some of my acquired knowledge influence my presentation of how I understand the connection between the fourth dimension and the problem of other minds. Even though I usually dislike writing research papers, this one wasn’t too bad, since I was learning about something interesting to me.
