For the Common Good Project I was a part of a team that worked on informing the public about the issues of prison overcrowding and how it is effecting our society. It was important that we understood our purpose and audience first, and then figure out how to approach that audience in a relatable way. This is why the second course objective was so helpful. It was also wonderful to see the fifth course outcome come into play when working with my group on this project. It felt like we were one well oiled machine because we were able to take those transferrable skills taught in general education and apply it to the process of citizen leadership. Our website, which is linked below, not only represents our hard work throughout the semester, but our application of the course concepts, as well as our ability to be active citizens while presenting our information in a relatable way.
