The Honors course, Women’s and Gender’s Studies: Reproductive Justice, has been an amazing eye opener to me since I have started college at Longwood. I took Dr. Dudley-Shotwell’s Honors Citizen class and I fell in love with the way she teaches and her passion for Reproductive Justice. This course truly opened my eyes to a whole new outlook on the world as a whole. We collaborated and communicated in every single class, talking about real world problems and connecting each of them to our individual personalities.
Throughout this course I learned the true meaning of Reproductive Justice and how it affects the people that are the closest to me and the ones farthest way. This opened my eyes to so many new opportunities, thus, being able to raise awareness about problems in my community and help others. It also enlightened me on what is truly going on in this world and how we can start to change the problems presented to us in everyday life.
By far, this has been my favorite course at Longwood. It helped me connect with others on the campus and learn how to try and fix some of our biggest problems. I truly appreciate this course and my professor for opening my eyes to many new things.
