What I learned about rhetoric and mostly connected to me throughout this whole class is knowing your audience. In my rhetorical analysis of “No Country for Old Men”, I learned a lot about audience and how a writer persuades and pulls the reader in further by use of rhetorical strategies. I learned how a writer creates an audience at the same time by not only just giving them answers to a story, but creating questions beyond a story, by playing to ourĀ Ethos, Pathos, and Logos.
This project also connected to the course outcome “understand the nature of public discourse/debate as determined by purpose, audience, and context” as well as “choose appropriate formats in writing for a variety of purposes”.
