My name is Carson James Blackwood and I go to Longwood University as an animation major. I am currently a junior about to be a senior. I has always enjoyed drawing as a kid but never put any passion into it until late high school. My main focus is in storyboards and character design. My main focuses are on dark comedy in animation, since it is something that isn’t produced often in this field.
The purpose of this portfolio is to show what I have learned from my English 400 class and using them in writing in my animation work as well as other work outside of animation. The Rhetorical Analysis essay is probably the most effective method of learning how important the three concepts (ethos pathos and logos) are used in writing and gaining an audience in life as well as cinematic.
From this class, I learned five major things being:
- Engage in the process of citizen leadership by investigating multiple perspectives on important public issues.
- Understand the nature of public discourse/debate as determined by purpose, audience, and context.
- Choose appropriate formats in writing for a variety of purposes.
- Analyze the effectiveness of their own texts and processes for specific rhetorical situations
- Understand how the knowledge, skills, and values learned in general education are interwoven and interrelated, and how they can contribute to the process of citizen leadership.
