Letter to Senior Self

Dear Senior Taylor,

Well, congrats, you’ve made it this far.  You’ve survived all of the late nights (even though everyone knows your bedtime is 9:00).  You’ve hopefully learned by now that procrastination never gets the grade you want (even if it sounds like a good idea at the time).  I hope you’re still playing lacrosse.  Do you still look confused every time the referee blows a whistle?  If the first year of college is any indication of the rest, you have made some great memories with some great people.  I hope you cherish these memories and friends as you start this next chapter in your life.

Speaking of this “new chapter”, you will soon be a graduate of Longwood University.  I hope the plan is still to get your Master’s (if not, that’s cool too).  I hope if you are not getting your Master’s its because you already have a job (not because you’re being lazy).  Either way, I’m sure whatever you have in store for your post-graduation life will be fantastic.  I hope that you will continue to set goals and achieve them.  I wish you much success in navigating your future.  Always remember the wise words of Paige Rollins from the freshman Princeps recognition:  “I am now successfully adulting by living in my own house and ordering pizza to it two times a week.”  I hope you are that successful in life.

Love,

Freshman Taylor
