Professional Profile
My name is Charlotte Apperson, but I go by Lottie, I am junior Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDS) major at Longwood University. I am also a first-generation college student, as neither of my parents completed a college education. I choose CSDS because I took American Sign Language (ASL) in high school and fell in love, this then allowed me to take ASL here at Longwood, which then led me to the CSDS department. My career goal is to be an audiologist or a Speech Langauge Pathologist (SLP), I want to work with children who have either speech or hearing disorders.
I have lots of experience working with children, as I used to work at a daycare and I manage my family farm, where we host field trips and have many families come to visit. Because I manage the day-to-day farm business I also have a lot of customer service experience, as I have been doing this since I was about 12.
