World Languages Perspectives

I ended up taking a perspective level class during the fall 2018 term, as I had tested into a higher level of German than the pillar class would have been. I was very nervous about jumping back into such a high level of German after not having took it since junior year in high school, but I am very glad I did. It was the best class I’ve taken in college so far, largely due to the professor, Dr. Varela. I ended up becoming very close with her, and still go to her office hours to chat with her even after I am no longer taking a class with her. This is really something that I value about Longwood, is that this student-faculty relationship is possible, as class sizes are pretty small even for intro level stuff. The attached assignment from this class is about Christmas food, it’s in German, but it basically talks about different types of food that germans would typically eat around the Christmas time.
