Recreational Therapists

  • The Full-Time Recreation Therapist position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field, along with a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential and CPR and First Aid certification. The primary responsibilities of this role include developing and implementing individualized recreation therapy programs, conducting assessments to determine client needs and goals, and facilitating group and individual activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being. This position reports to the Recreation Therapy Department Manager.
  • The Part-Time Recreation Therapist position requires 20 to 30 hours of work per week. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field, with a preference for those holding a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential, as well as CPR and First Aid certification. In this role, the primary responsibilities include assisting in the planning and conducting of recreation therapy sessions, providing support to clients during activities and interventions, and maintaining documentation of client progress and participation. This position reports to the Recreation Therapy Department Manager.
  • The PRN Recreation Therapist position involves working as needed, with hours varying based on departmental requirements. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field, and a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential is preferred, along with CPR and First Aid certification. The primary responsibilities of this role include providing coverage for full-time and part-time therapists during their absences, implementing recreation therapy activities as needed, and ensuring continuity of care and proper documentation during shifts. This position reports to the Recreation Therapy Department Manager.

Intern

  • The Recreation Therapy Intern position requires a commitment of 10 to 20 hours per week, depending on the academic program requirements. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited Recreation Therapy program. In this role, interns will observe and assist with recreational therapy sessions under supervision, participate in training sessions and departmental meetings, and gain practical experience and understanding of therapeutic interventions. This position reports to the Clinical Supervisor within the Recreation Therapy Department.

Volunteers

  • As a Volunteer Recreation Therapy Assistant, you will commit 5 to 15 hours per week. The minimum qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a genuine interest in recreation therapy or related fields. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting recreation therapists with the setup and facilitation of activities, helping transport clients to and from therapy sessions, and engaging with clients to enhance their participation and enjoyment. You will report to the Recreation Therapy Department Manager or a designated Recreation Therapist.
