Art and Music Therapy
Goals:
1) To enhance the participant’s ability to express and regulate emotions through creative mediums.
2) To improve social interaction and communication skills within a collaborative environment.
Art and Music Therapy is a therapeutic approach that utilizes creative arts as a form of expression and healing, where participants engage in activities such as painting, drawing, and playing musical instruments. These sessions are typically designed to provide a non-verbal form of communication, allowing individuals to explore emotions, cope with stress, and enhance their well-being, conducted in both individual and group settings based on participants’ needs. The program is often structured to occur two to three times per week, with each session lasting about 60 to 90 minutes, and typically spans 8 to 12 weeks. This duration allows for progressive development and adjustment, enabling participants to fully benefit from the experience.
