Hi! My name is Amya Williams and I am currently serving as the Director of the Recreation Therapy Department at Revive Harmony Hospital. I graduated from Longwood University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation, a journey that reflects my passion for enhancing the quality of care for patients through recreational therapies. Originally, I was enrolled in a Nursing program, but I made the pivotal decision to change my major to Therapeutic Recreation. This shift opened my eyes to the amazing impact that recreation specialists have on patient care. As I pursued deeper into my new field, I discovered my true interest in helping individuals improve their physical, emotional, and social well-being through recreational activities. This new passion motivated me to strive harder into my studies, earning a place on the Dean’s List for two semesters during my time at Longwood University. Since graduating, I have been committed to continuous growth and professional development as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). My leadership at Revive Harmony Hospital reflects my dedication to promoting wellness and recovery through engaging, purposeful activities. I believe in the transformative power of recreation therapy, and I strive to inspire both my colleagues and patients every day.
