After graduating from the Longwood University Social Work program, I hope to pursue a career with older adults in hospitals, nursing homes, victim-witnesses, the Department of Social Services, or other advocate settings. This career path has so much meaning to me because I have had the opportunity to connect my past and meaningful events in my life to the content and experiences that I have been able to have through my classes and internships at Longwood University. I hope to create a large positive impact on a population that can be perceived as vulnerable. This could happen by continuously increasing their access to resources thus enhancing their quality of life. I plan on living my life to serve others, and if I get to do that in any capacity, I will have been successful in my career.
