SPAN 211- Intermediate Integrated Language and Culture I

I enjoyed both learning about the Latin American culture and learning more about the Spanish language during this course. During my Spanish 111 course, I gained a firm foundation in Spanish, however this course allowed me to build on this foundation and develop a true knowledge of the different topics we covered. These included the daily cultures of various Spanish speaking countries and the rules of the Spanish language that I had never learned before and were therefore difficult for me. However, my professor helped me to find new ways to learn the material efficiently and effectively even though it was difficult so that I succeeded in the class. I now feel that I could have a somewhat basic conversation in Spanish with someone more experienced.

This artifact is a paper I had to write entirely in Spanish that focuses on the education systems of several Latin American countries including Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, and Venezuela. I wrote about the problems that these countries face and possible solutions to each of them. There were several different tenses and concepts that I covered in the paper and each one possessed Spanish grammatical rules that had to be observed to make sure that it was a good paper. It was interesting to learn about these countries education systems and think about how they to the systems of other countries that I know about.
