Introduction to Me

My name is Samuel Torpy and I am a junior at Longwood University where I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Management and a minor in both Supply Chain Management and Communication Studies. I have been studying the field of business since I was in high school and have been interested in the field due to the usefulness that it contains and how it can be used in any field, or job. I have begun to build a resume of my experiences throughout college by taking roles on the Student Advisory Board for the College of Business, the Student Advisory Board, as well my jobs back home at a local catering company and Target Corporation. Through these experiences, I have learned the value of work ethic and how crucial it is to having success in the world; if you just show up and do the work, success will come to you. The mentality of showing up and doing the work is something that I have taken to heart and have applied in my work at school and my roles on campus.

Purpose for ePortfolio

The ePortfolio is a way for me to demonstrate and express my thoughts on certain aspects that relate to being a citizen leader. The content that is in the ePortfolio are writings and responses that I have given throughout the semester and how they have impacted the way that I view looking at the world today. The writing pieces allowed the opportunity to critically analyze elements of the world and insert my own view on them. But the most important change that occurred was how I was able to work to install change in the world and how I could make a difference in the world.
