Community is the reason I chose to go to Longwood over another school. The community here is unique and memorable. I joined Longwood Belly Dance for my fall semester here, and while I did not stay with them, I pledged Delta Sigma Pi in the spring. Joining Delta Sigma Pi was the best decision I could’ve made, as I met some of the best people in the business field. Joining an organization that introduces you to other people in your major is one of the most rewarding things someone can do on campus. Not only do you gain a sense of belonging, but you also gain friends, mentors, tutors, classmates, and connections to the real world. While CHC brought me some of my best friends at Longwood, DSP helped me feel more at home on Longwood’s campus. I will never have a business class where I don’t know anyone in it. It’s hard to verbalize what CHC and DSP have done for me, but I am thankful everyday that I was able to meet the people I know now as some of my best friends.
