Collegiate Undergraduate Research and Inquiry Opportunities (CURIO)

CURIO is a spring-semester research program with a summer option where faculty supervise student-initiated research that culminates in publication.  Students receive an $1800 stipend (Summer Option students receive a $2400 stipend) and faculty mentors receive a $2500 stipend (Summer Option faculty receive a $3500 stipend).  CURIO supports Goal 1 of Longwood University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), “to improve student learning by promoting their discovery of new knowledge through research.”  It specifically supports Action 1.2, “make available a faculty-guided summer undergraduate research program in all disciplines.”
