As an undergraduate student, Ashlee’ worked as a server/bartender at Macado’s and as a senior wedding coordinator for an award-winning wedding venue. She had three internships during her undergrad career. Two of her internships involved educating and mentoring adolescents. She also participated in a peer mentoring program that aids freshmen while at Randolph College. The other internship involved case management and support groups for women and children that experienced/witnessed domestic violence. Overall, these internships required completion of over 800 hours collectively.
Ashlee’ balanced multiple jobs and roles while completing her BSW. It truly shows the dedicated, persistent, and hard-working person she is. She is also very empathic and supportive to her peers and colleagues. When she is not working on homework or serving drinks behind the bar, she enjoys kayaking, camping, crafting, and spending time with her husband and pets. In May 2022, she is starting as the sole family case manager for the YWCA of Central Virginia’s Domestic Violence Prevention Program.
