Building this online leadership portfolio has been helpful in my leadership journey as a way to think about and to visually see what are the characteristics within myself which already make me an effective leader now and the characteristics which I would like to hone in on in order to make me a better leader. I also found building a leadership portfolio to be helpful because it can serve as a valuable resource. As I transition to senior field and the workplace, elements such as a portfolio in addition to a resume and other supplemental materials can set me apart from others.

In looking forward in what I want to do, I want to remain true to my core values and missions as I achieve all the goals I have set for myself. Beyond becoming a school social worker, I want to pursue my passion for education and potentially delve into teaching (social work), and ultimately get involved in educational administrative work to make positive changes within the school systems. By incorporating everything I have learned about leadership to my mission statements and through my SOWK 412 course, I will be able to continue to improve my leadership to accomplish my goals while remaining true to myself.
