4Ocean is a company that works to preserve the oceans and all of the living creatures within. 4Ocean was started by two men who went on a surfing trip to Indonesia. They were sick to their stomachs when they came across a village of fishermen who were pushing their boats through plastic. Alex and Andrew came up with a way to help get rid of the plastic in the ocean while also raising money for awareness and prevention. 4Ocean produces bracelets and some other products that are available online to purchase. Each bracelet purchase removes one pound of trash from the oceans and coastlines. Within the first two years of operating 4Ocean removed 4,229,570 pounds of trash from oceans and coastlines. Most bracelets cost about $20 and each one goes towards a different ocean cause. Dolphins, seabirds, reefs, sharks, and whales are just a few of the different bracelets. They have also recently started selling tin water bottles to persuade people away from using plastic bottles.
