Pearson’s Correlation
After inserting a specific formula into the RStudio software, I was able to figure out the correlation between two different variables. Finding correlation is important as it helps measure the extent of variable quantities. The two variables were both interval ratio as they instructed the sample to answer the question by rating their opinions 1-10. The first variables that was compared asks students to rank 1 through 10, how beneficial they thought the new Longwood COVID-19 polices were at reducing the spread of COVID-19. The second variable that was compared asked the students to once again rank 1 through 10, how much their involvement on campus has changed since the new polices were enacted. After putting the variables into the specific formula in RStudio, the correlation between the two variables came out to be 0.02062427.
