English 470 has successfully provided me with the tools I need for the future. Being that I am majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders, it is imperative that my communication skills are sharp. I’ve learned the power of persuasion through rhetorical appeals, how to write and present professionally according to the 8 Cs, and how to produce enticing text and media according to the ADIA format. Each tool is effective and important for my future of working with people. Through this course, I’ve learned that writing serves not only to inform, but to inspire. I feel that by consistently presenting my work, I was better able to connect to it. Communicating clearly and passionately will be extremely effective in my future as a speech therapist.
