Brochure

Reflection

This brochure was my favorite project of the course. The purpose was to use the AIDA format; we were mean to elicit attention, interest, desire, and action. I used the statement “transforming communication, one trinket at a time” to advertise jewelry with translation software. The viewer should be enticed by a statement such as this, it provides a general overview of the product being advertised by using language that grabs attention, but is vague enough that it beckons the viewer to investigate further. I also included a hypothetical testimonial, “I brought my ring when I traveled to Italy and met a TON of new friends; now I take my treasures on every trip”. By providing a positive review, it increases a viewer’s desire to purchase the product. This is also an instance of the utilization of the rhetorical appeal ethos, credibility is established. The design was just as important as the text in the completion of this assignment. In order to draw and hold the attention of the viewer, the page should be minimalistic, clean, and easy to navigate. I used beige tones and compartmentalized the information into small sections, this is also an example of one of the 8 Cs, clear. This assignment covered a variety of course outcomes and incorporated a multitude of skills needed for future professional success.
