A Letter To My Senior Self

Dear Senior Stella,

Wow, you did it! You are finally a senior in college and I bet it feels so good. Writing this to you having just completed my first year of college is strange. Three years seems like a long time but some how I believe that it will go by much quicker than I expect it to. The beginning of freshman year was full of new experiences that brought me out of my comfort zone which is not my favorite thing to do, but it was necessary and it has led me to so many amazing new things. It’s hard to believe that for you, it’s all over. You are finally about to start your adult life in the real world.

Wait, that’s a really scary thought. I mean your whole life has consisted of living in the same town with your family who you love and the same friends you’ve known since elementary and high school. How on earth will I be ready to face the real world in just three short years?

Well, think of it like this…

Going into your freshman year you thought it was going to be the hardest thing you’d ever have to do. You hated all of the change going on in your life and you missed your family so much that you wanted to cry. There were so many times when you thought you just couldn’t do it, but you did. You pushed through and finished both semesters of your freshman year on the President’s List. You made some amazing friends who made the homesickness bearable. You even met your future roommate on the first day.

So, whenever you are feeling worried or anxious about the future just remember that everything always seems to work out; even if it’s not the way that you planned it. I know that you are going to be an amazing teacher. Don’t doubt yourself!
