Regression

Chapter 11: Basic Linear Regression in R studio

For the linear regression I am using family involvement (v.17) as my dependent variable. I used income (v.36) as my independent variable.

Interpretation:

I hypothesized that families with an income that is higher will have a higher rate of involvement. Thus, the household income would influence the rate of involvement.

For every one-unit increase in the families income, family involvement increases .1983 units. Therefore, it appears that family involvement is positively related to income. This finding is not significant. The R2 statistic is .03832, meaning that this model explains 3.832% of the variation in the dependent variable (family involvement).
