In order for a survey to be conducted, all questions must be in appropriate form. All questions must be clear and concise along with avoiding double-barreled questions. Respondents must be competent to answer and must be willing to answer questions. All questions should be relevant and avoid bias and negative items and terms. Specifically, I am interested in how parents education affects family involvement. The question I will use to operationalize my independent variable is what is the highest level of education any one in your household has completed. The question I will use to operationalize my dependent variable is on a scale of one to ten how did your involvement change during these activities. These are well written questions because they are not double-barreled and they are to the point questions.
