1. Always re-write your notes after class and read over your notes before class – professors give pop quizzes.
2. Make friends in all your classes and outside of class
3. Participate in class – Sometimes extra points toward your grade
4. Enjoy College Life – Goes by way too fast!

It’s okay to admit that you need help! I thought I was supposed to already know how to do everything when I started college, but I learned a lot by asking my professors, librarians, and other college staff. Remember that we are here to help you succeed!
Oh, and keep your eyes open for free food!

Don’t go crazy your first time being away from parents and the structure they provided you back home! Remember the reason you are here – to study and learn, not to party! I have seen students who can not handle their newfound freedom and flunk out, sadly. This is a big opportunity lost.
