Your opinion matters! Check out the NEW updated look of the Library’s research guides!

In spring 2009, we surveyed students to get feedback on the look and feel of our library research guides. The students we surveyed wanted to see four things:blog

-less clutter

-more search boxes

-convenient boxes for IM chat questions

-librarians’ friendly faces.

We were happy to report that in most cases, our research guides rated favorably in comparison with guides from other institutions and that student comments were generally positive.  However, we listened and made the changes YOU requested.  So, what are you waiting for? Go to our Research Guides, chat with us, leave comments, and share your favorite research sources! You can also access research guides via Longwood University Library Facebook .

Library Participates in Digitization Planning Meeting

The Greenwood Library convened and organized the meeting, held at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities in Charlottesville, and the Moton Museum provided lunch.

Representatives from Longwood, the Moton Museum, Farmville Baptist Church, Martha E. Forrester Council of Women, Prince Edward County School Board, and Virginia State University joined staff from Eastern Shore Public Library, Encyclopedia Virginia, Library of Virginia, Virginia Center for Digital History, Southern Virginia Higher Education Center, and Virginia Foundation for the Humanities to identify resources and define shared goals for a collaborative digitization project.  A follow-up meeting for other Prince Edward institutions that have expressed interest in the project will be held in early fall in Farmville.
