The Greenwood Library has 30-day trials of two business e-book collections. Both trials run into the first week of December.
You may access the collections and provide feedback on our new Trial Databases guide.

Most of the trials run through the first week of December. You may access all of them on our new Trial Databases guide and provide your feedback. The databases include:
Greenwood Library has a free trial of the NBC News Archives on Demand database for the rest of the Fall 2010 semester.

Are you looking for grants? You may find our new research guide helpful.
We are happy to announce that we have added a Grants guide to our research collection:
Grants Research Guide features resources on finding and applying for grants as well as our newly-acquired Foundation Center Cooperating Collection, including 2 new databases:
Foundation Directory Online (Professional), a comprehensive database for finding financial support for non-profits, and Foundation Grants to Individuals, a database that provides funding opportunities from nearly 2,000 programs funding individual grantseekers.
As a Cooperating Collection, the Greenwood Library houses a Foundation Center print collection devoted to foundations and grant-seeking resources. The collection is located in the Learning Commons and offers individuals and non-profit organizations the ability to identify funding resources. The two databases are accessible from any public workstation in the library. This print collection and licensed databases are provided as a service to the academic community and outreach to the public.

Emilie Richards featured at Friends of the Janet D. Greenwood Library’s Fall event Friday, October 1, 2010 |
Emilie Richards, USA Today bestselling author, will speak on Friday, October 1st at 7 p.m. in the Atrium of the Janet D. Greenwood Library.
Richards is author of more than 60 fiction novels focusing on family and romance. Many of her novels feature complex characterizations and in-depth explorations of social issues, a result of her training and experience as a family counselor. Some of her popular series include Happiness Key, Ministry is Murder, Shenandoah Album, and Men of Midnight.
In 2004 Richards began a series of single-title novels centered around quilting. The novels were inspired by her work as a volunteer teaching quilting to residents of the Arkansas Ozark Mountains while she was an undergraduate student at Florida State University.
The program, sponsored by the Friends of the Janet D. Greenwood Library, will be preceded by a reception at 6 p.m. and followed by a book signing. Books for sale at the event include Happiness Key, Fortunate Harbor and Sister Choice.
This event is free and open to the public, though, due to limited seating, those interested in attending must RSVP to Keary Mariannino by phone (395-2431), email (marianninokm@longwood.edu), or in person (Room 121, Greenwood Library).
We look forward to seeing you on Oct. 1st!
Greenwood Library is hosting their fall semi-annual game night, Friday, September 24th from 6:30 to 10. PLAY video games, board games, etc., enjoy refreshments and listen to great music provided by WMLU. We hope to see you there!
Following evaluation by librarians and school library media faculty, the Greenwood Library has subscribed to LISTA (Library, Information Science, and Technology Abstracts) with Full Text instead of renewing its subscription to Library Literature.
LISTA with Full Text extends coverage of librarianship, classification, cataloging, and bibliometrics as far back as the mid-1960s and includes broader technology-related topics such as online information retrieval, information management and more. The database contains full text for more than 240 journals and indexes more than 600 journals, plus books, research reports and proceedings.
