My Literature of Diversity class was not originally an Honors class, but I used an enhancement to bump it up a level to Honors. This was my first time using the enhancement system, so I had a little trouble getting the paperwork done at first, but once I got it done, the actual enhancement was not that hard. I simply had to write a short story using the themes of the class, and the due date for it was on the last day of class. I wrote that short story a few days before the last class. It is attached below.
From this class, I learned the value of extra work. Writing the extra story for class was rather challenging, especially since it took me a while to think up a good idea, but then, when I actually wrote it, I had a lot of fun with it. It was about twins, one boy and one girl, who didn’t wish to conform to the gender roles laid before them. I told it in the style of a fairy tale. My professor loved it! Extra projects can be challenging, especially as far as enhancements are concerned, but they can also be very rewarding.
This is the extra project I did for the Honors Enhancement. It is a short story about a pair of twins who refuse to conform to gender roles. It also includes a discussion about how the story lines up with the themes of the class.
