Return to Honors Courses

Religion and Literature (RELI 342)

I took this class because it was an honors class and fulfilled the civitae perspective requirement for global citizenship or aesthetic perspective. Honestly, I was quite nervous for this class because it was based on philosophy which I find hard and confusing. Although it was a challenging course, I actually found it interesting and enjoyed most of our class discussions and projects. Every night for homework, we were assigned readings from different philosophers and then we would talk about them in class. Dr. Blincoe taught the class and he was the perfect professor to teach it. He was very knowledgable about what he taught which made the class more enjoyable. He was always willing to answer questions and meet during office hours for questions or concerns. For our final paper, we had to analyze one of the novels we read with the thought of an existentialist that we learned about. I chose to analyze Wise Blood by Flannery O’Conner using Kierkegaard’s ideas. I have attached my final paper below.
