Quantitative Reasoning (MATH 135)

This was the first math class I have ever taken that I can see myself using in the future because of how much it applies to real life. Learning how to handle your finances is a big thing that students need to learn and it is not taught in high school. It surprised me how much I learned from this class and I found myself asking my parents questions about their financial decisions relating to the course. Professor Huyvaert taught me the importance of saving and living within your means.

When Professor Huyvaert told us we had to write a paper about math, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Surprisingly, it was rather fun and it was a great way to apply what we were learning to a real life situation. The paper was written with a partner and we had to help a couple make better financial decisions.
