Teaching Philosophy

Teaching is a process of learning from the students, their families, and the community. When having a healthy and balanced learning environment the teacher, students, and families understand that they are all teaching and learning from one another. It is not one single entity that is responsible for all of the teaching and learning. However, it is important to understand that each person still has individual jobs that they are responsible for in order to promote a healthy, balanced, and successful outcome. I believe in a student-led classroom where the students take ownership and responsibility of their own learning. When the students feel more responsible for their own learning, they tend to think with the end in mind because they have a goal that they want to accomplish. They will make the best learning and behavioral choices to meet that end goal.
