The microbial diversity experiment conducted in Biology 250-Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology was interesting. Despite the wide variety of microbes that exist, we documented a small fraction of the total number of microorganisms on Earth. The goal of the project was to document the diversity of microorganisms in Prince Edward County.

This helped me be more aware of what was in the microbial world around me. Through this experiment we were able to evaluate, interpret, and apply experimental design by first thinking of our experiment, determining the best methods, acting out these methods, and analyzing our findings. We were able to conclude which types of microbes were present and present this at a poster session.
