Hi there! I am currently a senior Social Work Major at Longwood University. After graduation in May, I am moving to Columbia, South Carolina to pursue my Masters in Social Work, I am from Goochland, Virginia and I love everything social work and helping others.
Through my years at Longwood University, I have had incredible opportunities in many different areas. I am an executive member in my sorority, I am a member of Phi Alpha which is the social work honors fraternity, I am a co-chairman on Mortar Board, and I am co-chair on Relay for Life’s executive board. These opportunities have helped me grow in so many different areas.
My most recent opportunity was interning at James River Hospice where I got to work alongside many different support service disciplines. Junior year I interned at the YWCA which is a domestic violence shelter in Lynchburg. Both of these internships have taught me so much valuable information that I have been able to use in different situations, as well as information I will be able to use for the rest of my career. I hope to never stop learning more about social work and helping others.
In the fall, I have an internship that will beginning with LRADAC which is a substance abuse recovery center in Columbia, SC working with young adults that are battling with substance use disorder.
