Scholarship

Students in the Cormier Honors College are required to take at least eight Honors courses before graduation, with one at least every other semester.  You can read about my experiences in these courses by clicking on the “Honors Courses” tab found on the homepage.

Additionally, I participate in research outside of the classroom with some regularity. I have published articles on the rhetoric of public memory and body rhetoric, have a pending publication on children’s literature theory, and am currently working on a manuscript about the graphic novel Watchmen and its place in canonical literature. I also presented about female strength in Beowulf at the 2018 Undergraduate Medieval Conference of Longwood University. Lastly, I gave a presentation on Neo-Aristotelian rhetoric in Dumbledore’s eulogy for Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at the 2018 Longwood University Spring Symposium (pictured below).
