For my internship, I am working with the Commonwealths Attorney for Amelia County. His name is Lee Harrison, and he has worked here for a long time, and has a lot of knowledge of the court process. I am so lucky to be observing and learning from him. I am from Amelia, and know most of the people in the office, but I have gotten to know everyone, and know what their roles are. I have been able to go to court on numerous occasions, even with the covid guidelines. I have seen both general district court, and circuit court. They have both increased my knowledge on how the court room actually works. A lot has changed in the courtroom, with the covid regulations. I have also gotten to know most of the deputies that work for the sheriffs department of Amelia. I have talked with head of the victims witness branch in the office that I am interning at. She is really nice, and I would like to dig further into that side when I complete this internship. I am glad that I got to stay in my home town for this internship, and can’t wait to try out more in the future.
