biography
My name is Jenny Johnson. I am majoring in Criminal Justice.
I have had a really easy adjustment to all of these classes. In all my honors classes, I have learned that there is a lot of reading, and more presentations than I thought there would be. However, the classmates, and the discussions that we get into make up for that. The classmates that I have had in my honors classes, are very smart, and open minded when it comes to the classroom discussions that are based off of reading materials. One question that is brought up can last the whole class; everyone seems to have something to add to the conversation, and keeps it going.
In all of my other classes, I have succeeded by not stressing to much, and doing the work that needs to be done, right when I know about it. This allows me to have the time I need to complete the assignments, and not stress to much about them. I have had a lot of papers to right in my sociology class, and my criminal justice class, so I got used to managing my time to write those without a problem. Also, in my sociology class, Dr. Milne was excellent at explaining things, and getting the class involved. We were able to understand the material fully. We also did fun activities to keep everyone paying attention, but learning at the same time. My criminal justice classes were pretty straight forward, and were notes, and studying, which is what I like. It is laid back, and you just have to listen to the teacher and take notes. It is a no stress type of class. My Spanish class on the other hand was very difficult. Which is understanding, but I hate the stress. There were always multiple assignments on multiple sites that were difficult to complete, but the class was worth it.
I have also made a few friends that I have had in a couple of my classes. It is nice to meet someone new, that has the same interests. These people have helped me in most of my classes. They are just someone that you can bounce ideas off of. During this journey, I have also managed my time and classes well enough to get a job in Farmville. Overall, I can say that I have been very successful in adjusting to the college lifestyle.
