During my time at Longwood University, I took a course called Fundamentals of Public Relations, which is an introduction to public relations principles and concepts. During this course, one of our projects was to write a research paper on a Non-profit organization of our choice in groups of 2-3. My group discussed and chose Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as our organization to run a research project on based on the publication and awareness of the group and what they do. Throughout this project I was in charge of conducting interviews, look through reports and posts from or about FEMA every week, and look at other reports based on FEMA’s interaction with the general public. After about a month or two of research and conducting interviews, we wrote up our findings in a research paper.
