Survey Questions

Good survey research must be conducted through clear and concise questions. Your questions and survey should be relevant to your research question. Avoid negative terminology such as the word not, this can confuse the individual taking the survey.  My survey question is, how do parents of kids three to five years old perceive benefits and risks of their children’s technological use? And how do their feelings about this influence their household rules and media habits? For my dependent variable for my research is perceived risk of three to five years old on media usage. The question that follows is, “I worry about my child spending too much time on devices.” The attribute for this question is a scale of zero to ten, zero being no risk at all and ten being the highest amount of risk. For my independent variable for my research is rules on media screentime limits. The question that follows is, “Do you have rules about limiting screentime in your household?” The answers to this question are yes, no, sometimes, or I don’t know. The questions listed are well written due to being clear, concise, not double-barreled, etc. These questions capture the independent and dependent variables in a clear manner.
