This is a picture of my non-profit work through images For Good. Here I am working with students from Yemen and Syria, getting them started on the fundamental concepts of photography. Our team at images For Good worked towards getting more people out in the community and tell stories of the people through their passion of photography. My job here was to help the new volunteers and work with them in any questions they had and providing a hand with their photography skills and knowledge, while also helping them connect with people within our community.
I am lucky enough to have served as Secretary and Trip Leader through an organization as “Alternative Breaks” at Longwood University. This program allows the opportunity for students to make a difference all across around the United States by volunteering in different National Parks with whatever they need help with. As Secretary and Trip Leader, I have worked with students and other executive members to plan trips, communicate with people all around the states, and help with unfamiliar communities. Although this program has enhanced many skills of mine, I believe it has helped most with my communication skills and my team working skills.
Theta Chi Fraternity is another organization I am involved in at Longwood University where I have previously worked on the executive board as Secretary. Being a part of this fraternity has helped me make connections with other students and facility members on my campus. Not only have I made great connections on campus but I have also made great connections within the Farmville community through our volunteer works.
