Common Good Project

This project was one that was very enjoyable. Our groups topic was looking at the mental welfare of college students. With the aim to spread awareness of services that are available to those students who are suffering from their mental health. As a group, we made a brochure and a website that provides lots of information about the symptoms of numerous mental health problems. In addition, we highlighted the stigma’s that are attached to mental health, the reason why students do not utilize the assistance they are offered and contact information for different places where they can receive help.

This project was lengthy and vigorous however it was meaningful to me personally because I have had experiences with team-mates and friends in these past four years, where they’ve been in an awful state of mind. Being by a friends side in their time of need is something I have learned to prioritize over everything and so having the chance to complete a project on this topic, it was a great learning experience. Another part of the project I enjoyed was being able to apply the three rhetorical appeals into the work. Having learned about ethos, pathos, and logos in the first few weeks of the semester in class, it was rewarding to implement my knowledge into the project.
