Meet the 2023-2024 Executive Council

President: Courtney Hooker

  • Serve as GSA officer and coordinate acitvities
  • Member of executive council
  • Provide support and leadership for the Graduate Student Association (GSA)
  • Foster recognition of graduate students
  • Ensure compliance with the College of Graduate and Professional Studies office
  • Work with Director of Graduate Student Services to implement support initiatives for graduate students
  • Attend monthly Grad Council Meetings
  • Attend Board of Visitors meeting
  • Provide resources to graduate students

Vice President: Kayla Adcock

  • Member of executive council
  • Provide support and leadership for the Graduate Student Association (GSA)
  • Work collaboratively with GSA President to ensure GSA supports all graduate students
  • Ensure compliance with the College of Graduate and Professional Studies regulations and procedures
  • Work with President of GSA  to implement support initiatives for graduate students
  • Assist with various projects, research, and reports for the Graduate College and graduate programs
  • Attend in-person Faculty Senate meetings and report back to GSA
  • Attend bi-weekly executive meetings and other meetings as needed
  • Attend social events and support other executive members
  • Serve in absence of President

Secretary: April Bair

  • Member of executive council 
  • Attend bi-weekly exec meetings
  • Takes attendance in meetings
  • Document conversations/what happens in meetings and upload to Google drive (welcome/introduction, brainstorming ideas) 
  • Distribute minutes to GSA body 
  • Assist exec members with any projects

Treasurer: Abigail Rogers

  • Member of executive council 
  • Maintain ongoing communication with CGPS staff
  • Collect reimbursement requests and receipts 
  • Maintain a budget and log expenses
    • Follow-up as necessary

Social chairs: Amanda McCormick, Matthew Vitale, and Yenci Reyes

  • Member of executive council 
  • Attend bi-weekly exec meetings
  • Comes up with social events (twice a month)
    • Ice breakers/games during social gatherings
    • Social gatherings (brewery, etc.) 
    • Reach out to alumni for regional social gatherings 
    • Host events for Graduate Student Appreciation Week
